Who would have thought that by simply picking trash along Pasir Ris beach, you get to be on the newspaper?
Generation ACTS Club was featured on a local Chinese national newspaper - Lian He Zao Bao
Dated 13 December 2002, Lian He Zao Bao, one of the most widely circulated Chinese newspapers, did an expose of the Club in its Y-page section.
The write-up introduced the Generation ACTS Club as having organised various activities for 'O' level graduates who are moving on to junior college or enlisting for National Service, to better prepare them for what lies ahead. The reporter also mentioned our 3 values of Living, Sharing and Investing as well as the different organisations that we work with, such as the YMCA.
2 of our executive committee members - Jie Yun and Guohui were interviewed about the objectives behind the activities that we organise.
Our efforts to go international also caught the eye of the reporter. The article mentioned our Peru branch as well as plans to enter Chile and Ecuador.
This was certainly an exciting move for the Club as it was our first time being featured on a newspaper! And with encouraging support, we will continue to live out the 3 precepts of Sharing, Living and Investing, to impact lives around us in a meaningful and purposeful way. Download
