KANDAL STUENG
PROJECT NAME: KIDS ALIVE CAMBODIA (KANDAL STUENG)
LOCATION : Home Kids Education Centre, Kandock Village, Kandock Commune, Kandal Stueng District, Kandal Province, Cambodia
PROJECT PARTNER: Bouroth and Sreykol, Assemblies of God Cambodia
PROJECT BRIEF:
Kids Alive! Cambodia (Kandal Stueng) is a community-based education initiative led by Bouroth and Sreykol, a dedicated Cambodian husband-and-wife team with deep roots in Kandock Village. After teaching here more than a decade ago, they returned in 2024 to Sreykol’s hometown to continue their mission of nurturing young lives through education and values-based learning.
Together with three local teachers, they now run eight after-school enrichment classes serving 66 students. Classes are held Monday to Friday, covering English, Khmer, Mathematics, and Science. Beyond academics, the program emphasizes holistic development—students engage in educational games that strengthen multiple intelligences and enjoy weekly sessions focused on values such as respect, responsibility, and caring for others.
At Kids Alive! Cambodia, we believe education should shape both the mind and the heart. Guided by our vision of quality, values-centered learning, our partners are committed to helping children grow into compassionate, capable individuals who will one day uplift their communities.
KAMBOL
PROJECT NAME: KIDS ALIVE CAMBODIA (KAMBOL)
LOCATION : KAMBOL, CAMBODIA
PROJECT PARTNER: Tola (Cambodian)
PROJECT BRIEF:
Kids Alive! Cambodia (Kambol) began in 2018 with a simple yet powerful vision: to provide children in the village with quality, values-centered education beyond their regular school hours. The program started modestly with one class of eight students, ages 7 to 14. Today, it has grown to serve 28 students, including younger children aged 4 to 6.
Classes are held every Tuesday to Friday, offering a safe and engaging environment where children can learn, converse, and interact with their friends and teachers in English. Lessons are enriched with educational games and activities that make learning joyful and meaningful.
Impact:
The program has received enthusiastic feedback from both students and parents. Children not only show improvement in their academic performance but also in their behaviour and confidence level. Parents have expressed gratitude for the positive changes they see in their children’s lives.
Fun Fact:
One of the older students has stepped up to become a teacher assistant, a testament to the program’s success in nurturing responsibility and leadership among its young learners.
